Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters is a great example of marketing content that rocks. Dave Grohl doesn’t just right the lyrics, or play the guitar. He does all of that and more but mainly he focuses on creating great content and connecting with his audience. Peter Drucker is quoted as saying the aim of marketing is “knowing the customer so well that your product or service sells itself.” With Apple, the product, the content and the experience become the marketing and with Dave Grohl the concert and experience become the marketing.
